Here are our four TV Themed Keynote Videos for Echo 2012
The above people are most of the peeps we had a great time with this past weekend at Valley Ranch Baptist Church. Every January they do an event called Winter Weekend and we got to be a part of it again this year (we were there in 2010 too!)
It was a lot of fun... we were able to perform some of our medleys and we brought out some guests. Rob and Braun made an appearance as well as Carlton and Dustin.
The band, Detour 180, was amazing as usual. Great guys who used to be mostly from New Zealand, but now are mostly from California.
To say we have had a rivalry with the Skit Guys is an understatement. We thought it was hilarious when our 'Killer Marriage Tips' never hit #1 on WorshipHouse Media, in part thanks to 'Love Words', Skit Guys mega-seller. But since we have gotten to hang with them at the Simply Youth Ministry Conference, we decided that we really like them. Like really really like them.
By the way.... just kidding about the rivalry.
We are excited to be heading to the Simply Youth Conference in 10 days. Our goal is to meet everyone there... so if you are going, we hope to meet you. We will have a booth next to Igniter Media's booth. Our backdrop in our booth is an amazing photo opportunity (you'll see).
We will be unveiling our newest video, Killer Youth Ministry Tips at the conference and can't wait to see it in a huge crowd. Also, we are slated to perform a time or two.
Our goal is to hang out with Doug Fields for 20 minutes... Chachi is his biggest fan.
In our booth, we'll be selling some sweet merch (DVD, t-shirts, head shots) so come by and see us.
Chachi and I (Johnny) had an extended gig over at Valley Ranch Baptist Church. We had 6 or so 'sets' to do and had a lot of fun. Was my fly down during the first set? Yes. But I think we were able to bounce back from that. We did several of our song medleys and did a special version of 'Pants on the Ground'. A highlight was hanging out with the guys from Detour 180. Great guys with very convincing New Zealand accents. Here they are in picture form:
Thanks to Valley Ranch, Coppell First Methodist and First Baptist, Coppell for allowing us to be a part of your Winter Weekend. Lots of fun.
Some guy that looks like Chachi took care of our booth. Nice enough guy.
So, we had a great time at the Scribble Sessions and the Tim Hawkin's Concert. Thanks Nevan Hooker and Chris Ball... lots of fun hanging with you guys. Thanks to everyone who laughed at us. If you didn't laugh, we're simply not going to thank you.
Chachi and I are looking forward to being a part of the Scribble Sessions, a youth ministry conference. It's coming soon... October 9th, so if you are a youth guy or gal and want to go, register here.
We got their nice glossy postcard brochures today. But we can't tell if they are 'insulting' us in the postcard. It reads 'Eight Youth Ministry Minds' and then has 8 boxes with faces... However, the eighth box is a picture of me AND Chachi. So, while we appreciate them saying we have a youth ministry mind (we get that a lot), I'm thinking they needed to say NINE minds... instead of EIGHT. It could imply several things. 1) Johnny and Chachi's minds together are equivalent to one mind (offensive) 2) We see Johnny and Chachi as half a person each (offensive) 3) We care more about design and the number of minds equaling the number of boxes on brochure (offensive). 4) They accidently put our picture there and left off Chad Rehnberg's picture (offensive, but to Chad, so this reason is acceptable).
Anywhoosier, we're looking forward to being a part of it. Perhaps they'll let us do our new 90's Medley. It's somewhere close to jaw-dropping when viewed live... in the 'I can't believe Scribble's hired these guys' kind of way.
Tomorrow night, Chachi and I will once again walk onto the ECHO stage to perform. We will be performing some new material, which is amazing, considering we like to use the same material for at least 5 years. Hope to see you at ECHOoooooooooo. #echo09
Thanks everyone for sending pictures! Keep'em coming.
Chachi and I poured our hearts into a song that we think will change every single marriage. It's called 'The Don't Song', and it's all the things a husband should don't do in a marriage. Just follow our song, apply it, and watch your marriage flourish like a weed.... I mean a flower.
